The idea behind this song is a relatively positive take on a defiant form of nihilistic realism. Even the most evil dictator will, like everyone else, die. Every empire eventually crumbles. At the most basic level, the second law of thermodynamics suggests that any conquest is ultimately temporary. All empires fall.
